Van De Graaff Generator

Here is the Van de Graaff generator that my friend (Andrew) and I made. The upper roller is a pallet truck roller and I am pretty sure it is nylon. The lower roller attached to the motor is made of pvc and wrapped in scotch packing tape. The belt is made of rubber chair webbing and the discharge sphere is made of two mixing bowls from walmart. Below are some construction pictures as well as some pictures of it in operation. You can also download a video of it and watch cereal fly around the room. Man...these things are fun.
